Thirty years old Abdulraham Bangura made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.3 in Freetown on a count of obtaining money by false pretences contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 27th October 2023 at Laka peninsular Road the western area in Freetown, with intent to defraud obtained the sum of thirty six thousand Leones from Abubakar Conteh by falsely pretending that he has two tonnes lots of land at Laka village off peninsular Road Freetown knowing same to be false.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty
The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Saio Conteh informed the court that his witness is absent; he sought for a short adjournment date
Counsel representing the accused person J. During applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on his behalf, he will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will he jumped bail she made her application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown matter adjourned to the 21st November 2023 for further hearing.
