The Sierra Leone National Cycling Association (SLNCA) one of the elite associations in the country will be coming big this time around to launch the new Salone Cup, a five-round series of races in cities across the country.

This will be the SLNCA executive first official event since they took up leadership in June this year that is why they are appealing to all cyclists to prepare and look forward to this great event.

According to the brain behind the events, Abdul Karim Kamara a member of the executive has revealed to this medium that the series will commence on 24th November 2023 in Freetown round that will be, presented by Tacugama. Tacugama is a chimpanzee sanctuary near the capital, one of the country’s proudest institutions, and a big supporter of cycling and youth enfranchisement. And according to Kamara the second round will take place on 26th November,2023 with the Le Col Lunsar Criterium.

The Le Col is a British cycling brand that has been a steadfast partner of the Tour de Lunsar since 2019. And the Salone Cup will continue in January 2024 in Kono and in February the cup will moved to Makeni and in March 2024 the Salone Cup will finally end in Bo and Kenema

To make the Salone Cup a success the association has written a letter to the National Sports Authority (NSA)the ministry of Sport and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) to come on board to support the events which is going to attract both local and international Cyclists as they all look forward to the event.
