Agustine Alfred Kayoko of No. 32 Taylor Street Wellington has testified before magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Ross Road court number three on how his son Robert Kayoko planned to kill him and burn his house.
The accused was charged to court after investigation by the police for threatening to kill and other related offenses contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that on the 24th of October 2023, at No. 32h Taylor Street, Wellington the accused threatening to kill his father complainant Alfred Kayoko and burnt his house.
Led in his examination in chief by Assistant Superintendent of police Fatmata Kuyateh, complainant recognized the accused as his last child.
He said on the 24th of October 2023, he was at home in the morning hours, the accused met him and requested for some money in order for him to go and see his mother on the grounds that he has been hunted by some people.
Complainant said he told him that he is not financially fit as he just came from the village. He said the accused Robert Kayoko told him his life is at stake because he is ready to order his gang to burn the house down.
Complainant said his tenant hold meeting and advises him to report the matter to the police before his son will carry out that diabolical act.
Complainant said he arranged with his tenant to take the accused to Wellington police station where he was arrested and detained.
Explaining further, complainant said at the police post, the made report that the accused has threatening to kill him and burnt his house.
In his cross examination, complainant named his witnesses as Alimamy Sabally and Vandy Alie.
In another question put to him, complainant said his witnesses will confirm that the accused threatened to kill and burn his house.
When confronted as to whether complainant has seen him with any gang, he responded in the negative. Complainant said during his encounter with the accused, he ( the accused) was fierce when talking to him.
At the end of cross examination the accused asked the bench for mercy but he was late to do same.
Magistrate Hadiru Daboh told him that he has no right to the properties of his father until he dies. He refused him bail and adjourned the matter to the 14th of November 2023 for the Prosecution to continue.
