The Chairman of Bo District Council, Victor Koresh Hindowa has on Wednesday 1st November 2023,extended a warm welcome and passionate appeal for support during the visit of the United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryant Hunt, and the British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Lisa Chesney.
During their visit to the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Chairman Hindowa presented a heartfelt plea to the Ambassador and High Commissioner, emphasizing the pressing needs of Bo District. These needs include essential requirements such as access to clean water, maintenance of feeder roads, improvement of Peripheral Health Units (PHUs), and crucial institutional support. The support sought ranges from scholarships for local council staff to directing development projects through the respective local councils, with the ultimate goal of bolstering decentralization efforts in Sierra Leone.
The United States Ambassador’s visit to Bo was part of the official launch of the Insecticide Treated Net for Malaria (ITN) program, while the British High Commissioner’s visit aimed to further strengthen the enduring relationship that Sierra Leone enjoys with the British people.
Chairman Hindowa’s heartfelt plea underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing critical issues and improving the lives of the people of Bo District. The visit serves as a testament to the enduring bonds between Sierra Leone and its international partners.
