21 years old Abdul Karim Duba made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on three count charges to wit wounding with intent, Wounding and assault.

According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 30th September 2023 at Yasim Drive Juba Hill the western area in Freetown maliciously Wounded Abu Sesay with intent to do him grievous bodily harm and assaulted the said complainant in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

DPC 17220 Joel B Sanoh Led first Prosecution witness (PW1) Abu Sesay a Masoner said he recognized the accused person as his colleague.

 PW1 recall the 30th September 2023 on the above date he was at his site working while something transpired between himself and the accused person. He said on the above date his boss gave the accused person money to share among themselves but the accused person felt offended.

 The witness said he was working with a shovel at the site when the accused person hit him on his left side, felt pain and saw blood oozing from the wound the accused person inflicted on him.

PWI said he took the cement mortar threw it on the accused person and escape.

 The witness said he went to the police station and made report the police issued a medical request form to him and he later returned with the endorsed medical request form to the police station and made statement; the medical request form was produced for identification to form part of the court records.

The witness was Cross examined by J. Smith Esq.

Lawyer Smith made application on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on his behalf he will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will he jumped bail.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted bail to the accused person in the sum of twenty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sureties to be resident within the jurisdiction; sureties to produce two passports book, valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown and bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar. 

Matter adjourned to the 6th November 2023.
