Police from the Community Relations Department of the Harbour Police Division, acting under the leadership of the Regional Commander of Freetown-East ACP Dr. John Martin Senesi, the CRD Coordinator Sergeant 9585 Dumbuya E.S, together with the LPPB Regional Secretary General Mr. Melbourne Greene, on Tuesday 24th October 2023, visited both the JSS and the SSS principal of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School at Kissy Dock Yard, to inform them about the violent conducts some of their pupils are involved in with the pupils of Albert Academy Secondary School.
“Pupils of both schools are now in the habit of attacking each other by pelting stones, bottles, sticks, or any harmful objects wherever a handful of them may meet”…Mr. Greene stated.
In response, both Mr. Banya (SSS Principal) and Mr. Alhaji Karimu Sesay (JSS Principal) thanked the police for their proactive visit and requested their presence on Sunday 29th October 2023 at the school meeting to also inform the parents or guardians about their children’s behaviours outside the school compound. They also stated that any school-going pupil caught in such acts must be prosecuted according to the law. Both principals further urged the police to conduct raids at a place called ‘Yeabeh Gron’ at Dock Yard, where most hoodlums converge to do their criminal planning.
Sergeant Dumbuya therefore reassured the principals that his commanders would provide the necessary leadership skills to instill sanity and allow the rule of law to prevail.
