59 years old Santigie Sesay a stone miner, 24 years old Santigie Dumbuya a tailor and 37 years old Foday Conteh a Labourer made their first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on a count of Trespass contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 14th October 2023 at Fourah Bay college (FBC) campus the mountain rural district the western area in Freetown unlawfully entered into the campus Fourah Bay College to mine stone, having warned not to do so.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person they pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the accused person I Fofanah Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused persons that they’re Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on their behalf they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will they jump bail he made his application pursuant to section 79 2 and 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused persons to the male correctional center in Freetown and matter was adjourned to the 26th October 2023 for further hearing.
Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun is prosecuting the matter.
