Thirty years old Aiah Mohamed Sundu, Twenty-eight years old Salamatu Kamara a business woman made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between June to October 2022 at White Street Brookfields the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Obtaining money by false pretences.
On count two the accused persons on the above date and place with intent to defraud obtained the sum of eleven thousand Leones (11,000) from Mustapha Lamin by falsely pretending to facilitate his travelling to Canada knowing same to be false.
Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun lead Prosecution witness number one Mustapha Lamin a house help said he recognized the accused persons.
He recalled on the above date something transpired between himself and the accused persons the first accused person approached him stating that he has a travelling company that is to facilitate people travelling to different countries.
The witness said the first accused person told her that the company pays 60% of the fee and he should pay 40% upon that he went home and brought the sum of one thousand nine hundred Leones at this juncture, the prosecution seeks for a short adjournment date.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused persons to the male correctional center in Freetown. matter adjourned to the 26th October 2023 for further hearing.
