On Alleged Murder: Brother Testifies Against Brother

Mohamed Alpha Jagitay a pupil has on Tuesday 17th October 2023, testified in the ongoing preliminary investigation into the alleged murder on Ibrahim Jagitay involving his cousin Mohamed Jagitay.

The accused  Mohamed Jagitay made his fifth appearance before magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No1  on one count charge of murder contrary to law.

 According to the charge, the accused on Friday 28th July 2023, at Kellie Farm, Malambay village, Waterloo in the western rural murdered Ibrahim Jagitay.

The prosecution witness No 4 Mohamed Alpha Jagitay led in evidence by Inspector Sellu TAP said he knows the accused and also the deceased as his brother.

He also recalled Thursday 27th July 2023, stating that on that day at around 10 pm, he was at home with his friends when the accused together with the deceased met them and told him that they will be stepping out.

The deceased he said informed him that they were going out for a party and that he was invited by the accused.

He added that whiles they were about to go, the deceased gave him Nle 10 Leones saying that he will be back.

The witness said he saw them going towards Waterloo, adding that on the following day he learnt that the deceased has died.

In conclusion, the witness said he was called by the police at Calaba Town to make statement which he did.

The defense counsel in the circumstance requested an adjournment to cross examine the witness.

Magistrate Ngegba adjourned the matter to the 24th October 2023 whiles the accused was remanded in prison.

Police Inspector Sellu TAP is prosecuting the matter.
