An OSD PC 18865 Emma Emmanuel Tamba Manga attached to the Tankoro police divisional headquarters in Koidu City kono District is reported to have allegedly shot himself to death whilst travelling to be deployed at the Liberia boarder.
Information making the rounds with regard the unfortunate demise of the police officer in question states that while the deceased in a police vehicle together with his colleagues were travelling they had a breakdown.
Noting it was during the process of maintenance of the vehicle, the deceased took leave of his colleagues to attend to nature in the nearby bush .The information stated that after the deceased has left twenty to twenty five minutes his colleagues heard a gunshot adding upon arriving at the scene where the gun shot came from his colleagues allegedly met the deceased and his gun lying on the ground in the nearby bush he went to attend to nature.
The information furthered that the remains of the deceased were later conveyed to the Kenema Government Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination and his gun to the Kenema regional police headquarters for further police investigation.
Meanwhile, apart from the aforementioned information about the demise of the deceased PC 18865, many other unconfirmed reports or information are also making the rounds how the whole incident occurred. When contacted, the police maintained that the matter was under investigation and that they couldn’t comment up to press time.
