Ahead of the Sierra Leone Football Association Elective Congress that is set to take place on the 14-15 May 2021 in the Makeni City in the Northern part of Sierra Leone, one of the potential candidates Rodney Michael has decided to take the Ethics Board to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).  This came following his disqualification from contesting for the upcoming Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elective Congress and this is the second time he is facing such from Ethics Board.

It could  be recalled in 2013, Rodney Michael faced the same Ethics board that disqualify him from contesting for SLFA Election, at that  time his disqualifying came with an accusation that  he was involved with  Mercury International betting  Company.

According to his legal representative, Lawyer Abdul Karim Koroma said when he received the news of his Client being disqualify he felt disappointed with the Ethics Board that has failed to do the needful.

He affirmed that when he and his client where called  to the Ethics Board hearing he sense some semblance of something  that can tell  possibility of a negative  outcome, but few days ago he received  a Letter  from the scribe of the SLFA, Chris Kamara  said that the appeal of  his clients has no Jurisdiction  to be looks into the appeal  case filed  by his Client.

He confirmed that the next line of action for his Client is to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sports to get a fear hearing. They have used the local bodies at home, nothing has come out from their engagements; therefore they have decided to take the matter to CAS for a better interpretation of the Law.

The SLFA Electoral Appeals Committee has decided based on “the Electoral Appeals Guidelines No. 4. (Service of Appeal) part 4.2.the SLFA code of Ethics art 72 and SLFA started 2019” to dismiss all Appeals in relation to the decision of the Ethics Board.

In its Letter to the respective appellants, the Appeals Committee said it “does not have the jurisdiction to hear matters adjudication by the Ethics Board of SLFA”
