This clash marked the commencement of the Zone ‘A’ battle in the 2023 National playoff.
The Southerners exhibited their mettle on the pitch with exceptional plays, resulting in remarkable goals.
The opening 13th-minute execution by Peter Koroma set the tone for Alma FC’s promising performance. Momentum continued to favor the Southerners when James Sesay netted another goal in the 53rd minute, further solidifying their lead.
Scarcies fought valiantly, striving to turn the tides in their favor, but the southerners maintained their resolve. Sheik Omarr Kamara displayed finesse, sealing the victory with a stunning goal in the 80th minute. The Southern region division one runner-up left no room for doubt, securing the all-important three points in this inaugural encounter.
Amidst the clash, Osman Bangura, representing the Northwestern champions, managed to break through their opponent defense, salvaging a consolation goal in the 44th minute. Nevertheless, the day belonged to Alma FC that showcased their skills and determination, setting the stage for an exciting journey in the 2023 national playoff.
