SIERRA LEONE TEQBALL END 3RD SERIES AT ABERDEEN/LUMLEY BEACH

The Teqers of Sierra Leone has on the 11th April 2021 successful ended their third series at the Aberdeen and Lumley beach with Teqbers once again demonstrating their commitment to put the sport in a competitive form in the country.

The Teqbers are drawn from almost all regions of the country and displayed high enthusiasm as they assembled for the 3rd series.

The Beach Venue was strange for most of them but they ventured to display skills to the admiration of the public. Many tourists at the beach had an opportunity of watching live Teqball.

It all started with the usual ceremony with the Team Leader Unisa Deen Kargbo addressing them to remain focus.

In his words “Let Sierra Leone appreciates that Teqball has arrived and the game is here to stay and compete with the rest of the sporting disciplines. So Teqers let’s remain focus and continue in the new sporting spirit”.

The competitions were keen in all categories.

In the mixed doubles final Koyateq lost the match 2-1 to their opponents Calaba Teq in Freetown. Calaba Teq has won the mixed doubles 3times in a row. Koyateq has been the runners up for the mixed doubles for 3times in a row.

In the finals of the singles, Abdulai Bangura of Koyateq won the match by 2 straight wins. It was his first gold victory in the series.

In the Doubles the surprised finalists from Bakeh Loko won against the double champions Koya Teq by two sets to one.

Tournament organization was satisfactory according to the experts. President of NOC, Dr. Patrick Coker and his executive were at the beach to watch and inspire the Teqers.

 Medals and trophies were distributed to winners. This third series should have been hosted at Kenema but because of unavoidable reasons the competition staged in Freetown.
