On Thursday, 21st September 2023, the MAFAM Foundation held a one-day mentorship and school feeding at the Kanda Barnet Primary School, situated at Allen Town, Freetown.
This remarkable and impactful event marks the first official program of the Foundation.
In her opening remarks, the CEO and Founder of MAFAM Foundation, Ms. Samuella Sally Kargbo, explained the ultimate goal of the foundation.
She said that the Mama Fatmata Foundation known as MAFAM Foundation is a charitable organization that was established this year (2023).
“?โ? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ?? ?????????? ???โ???, ?โ? ?????, ??? ???? ?????????? ?โ??????. ????? ???? ????????? ??? ?????? ???โ??? ??? ???????? ?????,” ?? ?????? ??????.
Speaking on the rationale behind the mentorship and school feeding program, MAFAM’s boss and CEO said that they aim to create a holistic change in the lives of young people, especially orphans and less privileged.
“Education is not just about books; it’s about nourishing the minds and bodies.” She says.
Kanda Barnet Primary School’s Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Conteh, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the foundation for their impactful visitation in her school.
She applauded the effort of MAFAM for their timely and welcoming program at the start of the 2023/2024 academic year.
“This program has breathed new life into our school. The mentorship sessions have motivated our pupils and the school feeding drive will significantly improve attendance and concentration. Mrs Conteh joyfully says.
Teachers, staff, and workers who benefited from the program expressed their profound delight and appreciation to MAFAM.
The mentorship and school feeding benefited over 200 pupils. The mentorship program covered relevant topics on the fear of God, Love, Respect, Education, Career Development, Peace, and Humility.
The MAFAM Foundation’s mentorship and school feeding program at Kanda Barnet Primary School is not only nourishing young minds but also shaping a brighter future for these pupils, instilling hope and determination.
Ms. Samualla Sally Kargbo rounded – off her statement by stating that the foundation shall embark on granting scholarships, school feeding, street feeding, leadership training, public speaking, and debate as vehicles to achieve its ultimate goal.
