Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone has opened opportunity for young Sierra Leonean students involved in artistic work and science with theme “My Dream” during the launch of Space-Africa program at the Embassy in Freetown.

His Excellency Ambassador Wang Qing, Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone said China actively carried out both space exploration missions and artistic platforms for African youths with Sierra Leone considered among top award winners particularly in painting.

He furthered that the event received a great deal of passionate and warm response from Sierra Leone and other Africa countries. “My Embassy also received dozens of entries and it is worth celebrating that Haja Fatu Turay’s painting was selected to the final in Beijing and won the Meng Tian Award,” Ambassador Qing revealed.

He said China launched the Shenzhou-16 manned spaceship where three astronauts were sent to its space station for a five-month mission.

Ambassador Qing affirmed that the programs were designed for African youths in order to explore the good stories of the cultural exchange and the bond between China and Africa. He hoped Sierra Leonean students would continue to study hard in science and technology in order to enhance a prosperous future.
