Following the wide spread rumor on Monday that some faceless individuals planned to embark on a nationwide protest for what they described as a poor condition of living in the country, the KONO District coordinator office of national security Ibrahim Turay has told A-Z correspondent that there is no looming security threats in Kono District and that the District is relatively calm, quiet and peaceful.
According to him prior to the 11th September to date life or business in the District is very normal noting the reason for such laudable update amid the wide spread threat by some faceless individuals to protest across the country is as a result of the formidable security team in the district that has worked tirelessly to always maintain peace, security, law and order in the District.
He further noted that the strong coordination between the security sector and the other like-minded institutions also saw the district totally free from the social mayhem that be fell some parts of the country on 10th August last year.
ONS as he is fondly called intimated this medium that the constant engagement with the traditional leaders, the media and civil society all gearing toward the maintenance of Peace, security law and order in the district is what makes the District unique in term of not joining the band wagon of lawless individuals. He thanked all and sundry in the district especially the youths for not yielding to the baseless rumor of engaging in a nationwide protest.
“As l speaks there is an ongoing robust regular night patrols by the security personnel in order to maintain the security and peace people are enjoying in the District,” Ibrahim Turay assured.
According to him six months ago the usual high reported criminality in the District has drastically reduced owing to the frequent raids that were conducted by the security sector to address the intake of Kush. Concluding the Kono District coordinator office of national security pleaded with all and sundry to remain law abiding share vital security information with the media, ONS, and the state security for prompt interventions.
