ICPNC Chairman Urges Journalists To Foster Peace, National Unity

Kenema City, Sierra Leone – In a virtual keynote address delivered at the Annual General Meeting of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), the Chairman of the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion, Rev Shodankeh Johnson, emphasized the pivotal role of journalists in promoting dialogue, reconciliation, sustainable peace, and national cohesion in Sierra Leone’s post-election era.

Themed “Role of Journalists in Promoting Dialogue, Reconciliation, Sustainable Peace and National Cohesion in Post-Election Sierra Leone,” Rev Shodankeh Johnson’s address resonated deeply with media professionals who gathered in Kenema City from across the nation.

The Chairman and his team received resounding applause from journalists and other dignitaries for their instrumental role in fostering and consolidating peace in Sierra Leone. Notably, their recent mediation efforts between the government and opposition parties during a prolonged post-election standoff were highlighted as a significant contribution to the nation’s stability.
