For Damage Of SLP’s Vehicle: A Ccused Person Discharged

Honourable Justice Adrian Fisher of the High Court of Sierra Leone on 7th September, 2023 discharged accused person Mohamed Bangura for maliciously damaging Police vehicle two years ago.

Count one statement of offence revealed that Mohamed Bangura on 30th November 2021 in Freetown the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired with other persons unknown to commit an offence of wounding with intent.

Count two depicted wounding with intent contrary to Section 18 of the Offences against the person Act 1861. In this regard, Mohamed Bangura on the same date wounded Sergeant 15939 Mohamed Lamin Sama with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

Going forward, count three provided for malicious damage to property contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861. It mentioned that Mohamed Bangura on the same date maliciously damaged windows and windshield of a police vehicle with registration number SLP 080 valued twelve million Leones property of the Sierra Leone Police.

Accused person agreed to the three counts charges whiles in court. He told Justice Fisher that he had already spent two years’ incarceration with lots of suffering.

State Counsel Daisy Sawyer Esq told the court that the Prosecuting Witness one was not in court after he had severally coming to make a witness on the matter. D. Sawyer Esq requested to inform the PW1 via phone call.

Justice Fisher discharged the accused person of all the three counts charges.

Defence Counsel Ibrahim Bangura Esq served as the counsel for the accused person.
