Robin Tucker made his fifth appearance before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba Road Court in Freetown on the 8th April, 2021 to answer to two count charges of Conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to Law and Larceny by servant contrary to section 17 (i)(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet on the 12th March 2021 at 4b Bawie Drive Kanigo Lumley in the Western Area in Freetown conspired together with other person unknown to commit a felony to wit Larceny and being a servant to Hamid Sultan Barrie (complainant) did stole the sum of twenty three million one hundred and Ninety three thousand Leones (Le 23, 193,000.00) property of Hamid Sultan Barrie.
PW2 Yayah Khan while testifying said he knew the complainant in the matter as his boss and the accused person also as a servant. He recalled on the 12th March 2021 himself and the complainant was at home when the complainant sent the accused person to collect money from Western Union, Money Gram and Airfare, while the complainant had transferred the code from his own phone to the phone of the accused person. The witness said he was present at the time when the codes were been transferred to the accused person’s phone.
The accused person left and went to the bank after four hours the accused person came along with a “Ghana must go bag” on his head and handed it to the complainant. Both of them went inside the office while the witness was outside. He said immediately he saw the accused person rushing and shouting that he had left three plastic bags money at the money gram place.
The witness said he advised the complainant to keep calm as he will bring those missing bags. According to the witness he said few minutes the complainant receives a call that the accused is at Lumley police station as he has grabbed hold of a boy that stole the money. The complainant went to Lumley police station and he made statement there.
ASP Aminatu Daboh prosecuting the matter has been adjoined to the 15th April 2021.
