FBC Student Testifies in Over Le 200m Theft Case

A student of FBC, Abdul Fatar Jabatay was in court as fourth Prosecution Witness (PW4) to testify in matter involving Alpha Mansaray and Ibrahim Bockarie, being accused persons. They were both accused persons and charged for Larceny and Burglary.

Both accused persons Alpha Mansaray and Ibrahim Bockarie were arraigned in court before Magistrate Marke Ngegba in Freetown on 7th April, 2021.   

Testifying, PW 4 said he knew the second accused person, but knows nothing about the first accused person. The witness said he was at his grandmother house on the said date when he received a telephone called that armed robbers have attacked their house. Upon his arrival at the scene he asked the second accused person, to narrate what happened. The 2ND accused replied that thieves break in and robbed the house.  

He said he further asked the second accused person: where he was when thieves entered to the house? He responded that he was sleeping. The witness continued that upon his arrival he noticed that the doors and windows were intact and no damage was done to them. He further revealed that when he got to their parlor he saw one giant cutter with cutlass on the floor, the Plasma TV was also missing and many properties were missing that belong to his father Mr. Abdul Fatar Bakarr.

According to the case file, the accused persons on 23rd January, 2021 at 1Jawlay Drive Mambo Village, Freetown in the Western Rural district conspired together with other persons unknown to commit felony to wit Burglary and Larceny. The accused persons entered the dwelling house of Mr. Abdul Fatar Bakarr (complainant) with intent to steal Plasma TV value thirty million Leones (Le 30,000,000/00), 2 pair Reebok sneakers value eight million Leones (Le 8,000,000/00), 4 pair Guw neal value twelve million Leones (Le 12,000,000/00), Assorted sneakers value sixteen million Leones (Le 16,000,000/00), 1 Prada sneaker value five million Leones (Le 5,000,000/00), 2 Versace shirt polo value fifteen million Leones (Le 15,000,000/00), 20 T-Shirt value forty million Leones (Le 40,000,000/00), 5 perfume value nine hundred thousand Leone (Le 900,000/00), 1 savage perfume value one million Leones (1,000,000/00), 1 jay pee perfume value six hundred thousand Leones (Le 6,000,000/00), 1 boss speaker Bluetooth value eight million Leones (Le 8,000,000/00), 1 boss head set value eight million Leones (Le 8,000,000/00), etc. and a physical cash of nine million Leones (Le 9,000,000/00) all to the total sum of two hundred and fifty million, seven hundred thousand Leones (Le 240,700,000/00), properties of Mr. Abdul Fatar Bakarr, the complainant.

During cross examination witness said he does not know the first accused person but the second accused person.

Inspector Kumba is prosecuting for the State, while the Lawyer for the accused persons was absent. The matter has been adjourned to the 14th April, 2021. The accused person were remanded at the Pademba Road prison
