Alhaji Yillah made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba Road Court in Freetown to answer to four counts allegations and charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offence against the persons Act 1861, abusive language contrary to section 3(i) of the Public order Act No.4 of 1965.
According to the charge sheet on the 15th February 2021 it was alleged that the accused Assaulted, Abuse, threatened, and insulted the complainant Patrick Kamara.
The Defence Counsel applied for bail for the accused person stating that the accused person is a Sierra Leonean who is resident in the Western Area, and has reliable sureties who are ready to go into recognizance on his behalf, adding that he is not a flight risk.
Upon his application the Magistrate granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty million Leones, one surety in like sum. The said surety should be resident in the western Area and should produce any form of identification card to show his resident and to be approved by the DAR.
Matter has been adjourned to the 13th April 2021.
