As a demonstration for love and kindness to fellow human beings as exemplified by Jesus Christ, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Jestina Browne foundation has fed over two hundred homeless children at the Waterloo camp junction community.
The Founder of the Foundation a Patriot Madam Jacklin Olayinka Collins said it was her foundation`s way of giving back to society.
The J.B foundation is in recognition and honour of the memory of a sierra Leonean mother whose patriotic love for humanity cannot be overemphasized. Late Madam Browne was a woman of peace with a beautiful nature, who always sees that people needs are attended to. Her service and love for country and people cannot be forgotten in a hurry. It has always been her dream and wish to be there for those who needed her the most.
Soup kitchen is a traditional service that has existed over hundreds of years in the United Kingdom as a form of charitable organization of providing food and support for the homeless and needy.
The J.B foundation according to the CEO is launched to strive to eradicate some of the pressing challenges especially among youths by advocating for children`s rights and adequate intervention techniques.
Soup kitchen is also a range of supporting service program that will continue to empower vulnerable youth and enable them to feel more dignified.
As a way of minimizing the social and economic issues that can lead to a better society, Director and Representative of the Foundation Apostle Solomon Kalokoh confirmed to this medium that all what the J.B foundation and soup kitchen is here to do is to create an awareness of self-worth by rebranding the needy through love and care.
The Director said, the foundation is hoping to set the pace through its exemplary principles and core values.
We are not only targeting them by providing food but also show them the path of a decent and well-mannered life through the beautiful word of God. The J.B foundation will be among the first to serve humanity with a clean conscience and care for love for country and people.
Chairman of the Community Robert Sowa an invited guest expressed his thanks and appreciation for the kind gesture and love the J.B foundation have rendered so far especially in such a deprived community. This shows the beginning of self-righteousness and people with trust and intergrity, he said. He prayed and wished the foundation the very best of luck.
