Ibrahim Sorie Kabia made his first appearance before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh on a three count indictment of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916 at the Ross Road court no.3 in Freetown.
According to the particulars of offense states that the accused Ibrahim Sorie Kabia on Sunday 4th April 2023, at Kissy Dock yard Freetown, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of ten million old Leones from Batu Musa with the pretext that he had a one and half Town lot of land situated at Garahun village waterloo for sale knowing same to be false.
On count two, causing money to be paid to another with intent by means of fraud, contrary to section 32 (1) of the larceny Act 1916 it’s particulars of offense states that the accused Ibrahim Sorie Kabia on Monday 17th April 2023, at Kissy Dock yard Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, fraudulently caused Batu Musa to pay the sum of five hundred thousand Leones as a survey fee to Ibrahim Sorie Kabia for a piece of land situated at Garahun Village waterloo which the accused purported to be false.
On count three, obtaining money by false pretense contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916, the particulars of offense states that the accused Ibrahim Sorie Kabia in Thursday 2nd May 2023 at kissy Dock yard Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone with intent to defraud obtained the sum of three million old Leones from Batu Musa with the pretext that he has a half town plot of land situated at Garahun Village waterloo for sale knowing same to be false.
The accused upon arraignment pleaded not guilty on all count charges read and explained to him.
Magistrate Hadiru Daboh granted the accused bail on which prosecuting constable PC 14849 Angela Bangura objected to bail on four grounds that the accused if granted bail might jump bail, that he is a flight risk, and that the offense for which he is brought before the court is a serious offense, that the accused will tamper with the prosecution witnesses in the matter.
Magistrate Hadiru Daboh granted the accused bail, and the accused person was represented by M.A Kamara and PC 14849 Angela Bangura prosecuting.
