Sierra Leone’s National U-17 football team is evincing an impressive form as they are preparing for the upcoming U-17 qualifying tournament to be hosted in Sierra Leone. The date will be determine by Confederation of African Football (CAF) and other sporting bodies.
As part of preparation, the young players played Magburaka All-stars U-17 team at the Wusum field in Makeni. Magburuka conceded 10 goals in the humiliating encounter.
Alimamy Kamara was on the score sheet three times; David Kamara and Abu Bakar Fornah visited the net twice each. Sheku Kallon, Abu Bakar koroma and Mohamed H. Siaffa scored one goal each.
The U-17 boys are desperate and determined to qualify for the nation’s cup that will be held in Morocco. Football enthusiast following the performance of the boys say the team seems poised to replicate the 2003 scenario by representing Sierra Leone in the U-17 world cup.
The team is still camped at the Sahara Hotel in Makeni waiting for the pending tournament as the Confederation of Africa Football is putting things in place to see that the qualifiers kick off.
