Mande (MLI) Vs Mogbwemo Queens Match Ends Goalless

Champions of the Sierra Leone’s Female Premier League Mogbwemo Queens, has on 9th August 2023 suffered an uphill task in the ongoing West Africa Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

Mogbwemo Queens went into the match with huge optimistic of winning against the AS Mande from Mali after they suffered defeat in their first match against AS Dakar, but clinical in front goal, injuries, and composure where major setbacks in their Campaign.

The match staredt with intensity from both sides knowing how important the match was to both teams, Mogbwemo Queens got three chances in the opening ten minutes of play but failed to convert any of the chances due to the good defensive work of the Malian players.

The AS Mande Female sides from Mali enjoyed bulk of the ball possessions with big chances in the final third but the chances were not converted to goal, the final mean score line was a big boost for the Malian sides because they now secured four points after two matches in the log and have chance of either to finish second or take the first position but that will depends on the outcome of the match between As Dakar match against the Liberia Champions.

For Mogbwemo Queens from Sierra Leone, this results means the debutants have huge task in their next match as they need to win if they are to make any progress of qualifying from the group stage, the goalless draw was a bad results for them.

Adam Suma the head coach of the Mogbewmo Queens said the results is not good for the team considering the way the girls gave their best but goal scoring was a key issue with the team, noting that the injuries concerned is also a challenge as they missed key players ahead match day.

Mogbewmo Queens will now have to face Determine Girls of Liberia in their next match as they need a win if they are to get any hope of making it to the group stage.
