Twenty Four years old Alimamy Kanu alias “Pa Kalla” a driver made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916 and Malicious Damage contrary to section 51 of the malicious damage Act 1861.

According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 8th July 2023 at No.80 main Regent Road Hill station the mountain rural district the western area in Freetown did steal eleven roles of 2.5 M.M electric cables and other items all to the total sum of one hundred and forty seven thousand five hundred Leones(147,500) property of Abass Kanu.

 On count two on the same date and place the accused person maliciously damaged eleven roles 2.5 M.M electric cables and other items all to the total value of one hundred and eighty seven thousand five hundred Leones(187,500) property of the said Abass Kanu.

Inspector Mohamed Kamara lead Prosecution witness number one police constable 14125 Mohamed Kassim said he recalled on the 28th July 2023 whilst on duty Dpc 13301 Karew A handed over to him a small quantity of two black color electrical cables for safe keeping.

 The witness said he received them and registered it against serial number 42/2023 in the exhibit book since then it had been in the custody of the police the said exhibit was produce and tendered in court

The prosecutor told the court that fact as charge as there’s no available records against the accused person

The accused person was unrepresented by legal representative and he pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.

Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Gogra sentenced the accused person to twenty four months Imprisonment to the male correctional center in Freetown
