Twenty one years old Abubakar Kabba Turay made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba No.6 in Freetown on a count of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 3rd July 2023 at No.6 cartton Carew Road off Wilkinson road in Freetown Stole one Samsung laptop computer, one Samsung J5 mobile phone and other items all to the total value of nine thousand Leones nine hundred and seventy Leones(9,970) property of Amara Kailondo
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded guilty
Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun lead Prosecution witness number one police constable 15221 Alimamy Morlai Turay attached to the exhibit office Congo Cross police station.
He recalled on the 10th July 2023 he was on duty when Dpc 14061 Conteh D.M handed over to him one old blue and white colour electrical one old size Panasonic speaker, one old small charger one old radio without charger, the witness said he recorded it in the court exhibit book against serial number 92/2023, since then it was in the custody of the police which was produced and tendered in court.
The accused person was unrepresented and he pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Gogra sentenced the accused person to twenty four months imprisonment to the male correctional center in Freetown.
