The Former Minister of Sport Ibrahim Nylenkeh has on 2nd August 2023 officially handed over official documents to the New Minister of Sports Madam Augusta James-Teima at the Bishop House, Siaka Stevens Stadium Freetown.
In his statement the outgone Minister of Sports Ibrahim Nylenkeh said it was honor to work for the Ministry of Sports that is supervising about 35 Sporting disciplines nationwide. He said there were many projects under his watch during his tenure and key amongst is the ongoing Rehabilitation work at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
He further that, the Ministry of Sports has a lots of work to do in getting Sports reach it apex by winning goal medals for the Country and ensuring that Sporting Federation get represented in International competitions. He pledged him time that he is always available if needed and willing to assist the present Minister of Sports for her to succeed.
Madam Augusta James-Teima the new Minister of Sports in her statement said handing over protocols is very much important in the progression of any administration because it gives a clear direction of the pathway where the Administration needed to work to achieve its goals and some of the challenges. She applauded her predecessor for his tireless efforts in the Ministry of Sport during the last five years.
Madam Augusta James- Teima assured the Former Minister that she is going to work with the Staffs of the Ministry for her to achieve in the Sports Ministry. Noting she is ready to use her experiences in Sports over the years so that the Sports Ministry will Achieved it goals, stressing that she need every Staffs onboard to work with her for the betterment of Sports.
She added that what the outgone Minister has submitted she will go through it and to develop a new a working plans for the Ministry of Sports to achieve its goals more than the first five years of President Julius Maada Bio Government.
Madam Augusta James Teima has been around sports for more than two decades as Lecturer, as a Coach over the years, before assuming the Minister position she is the current Treasurer of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association, the Coach for SPAC Athletic Club in the Western Area and a Lecturer heading the Physical Health Education Department at the Milton Margia College of Education, Godrich Campus, Freetown.
Football loving fans are expecting some transformation under the new Minister of Sports for better delivery of Sports in Country.
