Sierra Football Academy has on 31st July 2023 kick-off the Murray Town Championship against Southampton S/L as both team share a point in their opening fixtures.
The opening tournament match at MONJASA PARK MURRAY TOWN, Sierra FC faced Southampton SL in a riveting contest. The game saw Southampton SL taking the lead with a goal during the first half, putting Sierra FC on the back foot. However, the second half showcased Sierra FC’s fighting spirit as they made a stunning comeback, courtesy of John Kargbo, their skilled striker, who scored an impressive equalizer. The match culminated in a thrilling 1-1 draw, leaving both teams with a hard-fought point.
Sierra FC’s young captain, Kabba Kanu, stood out amidst the intense competition, whose remarkable performance earned him the prestigious Man of the Match award. Kanu’s leadership and determination on the field proved to be a driving force behind Sierra FC’s impressive resurgence in the second half, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their next tournament encounter against Oloshoro FC.
Sierra Football Academy has played series of Friendlies matches before facing Southampton S/L and in all those Friendlies they won with huge results, key among is the match against Christ King College Football Club in which they won by three goals to one (3-1) and the part take in the entire division two competition and won all their matches with huge goals margin.
