Police in Port Loko have arrested and detained four people including an Engineer, RSLAF personnel, Store Keeper and a Driver over stealing of sixty bags of cement and over ninety pieces of iron-rod meant for the construction of a hundred bed hospital in the district.
Port Loko Police Spokesman, Segt Paul Hassan said statements have been obtained from all suspects including the one said to be a Personal Assistant (PA) to the Minister of the Northwest Region, Haja Isata Kamara. He said the investigation is ongoing, noting that they would not hesitate to charge anyone found wanting.
Residents of the district are calling on the Local Unit Commander (LUC), CSP Madison Sesay to expedite the investigation for justice to prevail over such heinous anti progressive activity. Adama Sesay in Old Port Loko told this medium that those found guilty in the course of the investigation must face the full force of the law for trying to destroy the health sector.
It could be recalled that Vice President Juldeh Jalloh was in the district recently for the turning of the sod for the construction of the one hundred bed hospital whose materials are now subject of investigation.
The suspects, it is expected, might be charged with larceny and conspiracy as the case may be. Resident Minister, North West, Haja Isata Kamara was unavailable to comment on to press time.
