An SSS 3 pupil attending Christ the King Academy situated at Kingharman Road, Freetown, on July 14 2023, appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Court No 1 on Pademba Road, Freetown, for allegedly stealing from his uncle who is a soldier.
The accused Abu Bakarr Fayoma is on a count of housebreaking and larceny contrary to Section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, the accused Abu Bakarr Fayoma on Monday 1 May 2023, at Wilberforce Barracks, Freetown, with intent to steal, broke and entered into the house of Corporal 18173462 Amara Joseph Bundu and stole therein 5 big size gold buttons with RSLAF inscription value one hundred and thirty dollars, 1 medium size gold buttons with RSLAF inscription value one hundred and twenty-five dollars, 10 small size gold buttons with RSLAF inscription value ninety dollars, 1 green long sleeve suit for male value eighty dollars, 1 dark green necktie value sixty dollars, 2 short sleeves light green shirt value thirty-two dollars, 2 long sleeves light green shirt value thirty-two dollars, 2 dark green military trousers value sixty-two dollars and 1 military ceremonial palm value four dollars, all to the total value of two hundred and twenty one dollars, equivalent to five thousand eighty-three cent, property of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional centre in Freetown and adjourned the matter to the 17th of July 2023, while Inspector Sellu Tap is Prosecuting.
