Forty years old Sheku Samu a Contractor and thirty nine years old Michael Johnson a business man made their first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on a count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861.

According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 7th June 2023 at Hill Cut Road the western area in Freetown assaulted Mohamed Kamara in a manner thereby occaisioning him actual bodily harm.

Inspector Mohamed Kamara lead Prosecution witness number one Mohamed Kamara an electrician said he recognized both accused persons in the dock as his Neighbour.

 He recalled on the 7th June 2023 he was at home something transfer between himself and the accused persons at the above that whilst he was at home he came out side by then the accused persons also came outside.

 They spoke to a certain woman he asked the second accused person who he was insulting to tell the second accused person that he should not insult his elder brother then the second accused person came and hit him on his chest he felt pain.

 He fell on the ground by then there was a woman that sold rice she was present and one man by the name of Ibrahim came to help him upon that his mobile phone get missing he went to New England Ville police station where he reported the matter.

 He was given police medical request form and he later returned with the endorsed police medical request form which was produced and tendered to form part of the court records he later made statement to the police.

The witness was cross examined by defense counsel S.Bangura he applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on their behalf.

They will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses, he made his application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused persons bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area in Freetown.

 Sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown one surety to produce valid national passport one surety to be employed in a government institution in Sierra Leone with pin code, one surety to be a pastor or Imam and they should be the head or the Mosque or the church.

 Bail to be approved by the Bench, matter adjourned to the 17th July 2023 for further hearing
