The Chief of Defence Staff Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Lieutenant General PK Lavahun has expressed delight towards the professional conduct of RSLAF personnel before, during and after the June 24, 2023, General Elections.
This is said was demonstrated through the effective leadership support of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) through MACPP during the General Elections-2023.
Thus, RSLAF personnel adhered to those mentioned instructions contained in the CDS Directive for the June 24, General Elections that were promulgated nationwide on 5th June 2023.
In view of this, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Lieutenant General PK Lavahun wrote a Letter of Thanks and Appreciation to members of the Armed Forces through the Commander Joint Force- Major General D Alpha, expressing his profound thanks and appreciation to him and all members of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces for their exemplary service and professional conduct (with their families), during the just concluded June 24 multitier elections.
He further stated that he was particularly delighted that the RSLAF was able to provide unwavering support to enhance the conducive atmosphere for the conduct of free, fair, transparent and credible elections for our country.
Nothing that, although there were “Difficulties to contend with during these challenging times, He was grateful that as an Armed Force, our service to the nation demonstrates our clear commitment to democratic governance.”
Finally, the Chief of Defence Staff thanked the Commander Joint Force and staff for the great work done and requested that he conveyed his thanks and appreciation to every member of the RSLAF.
“Whilst we observe the coming days, please let us continue to be vigilant as we strive to be loyal to the people and the government of the day,” he affirmed.
