Alouyshious Deen Tarawally alias Arata yesterday made another appearance before Magistrate Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown as he was alleged of maliciously damaging the vehicle of the Mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki-Sawyer.
The accused was arraigned before the court on two counts charges of malicious damage and larceny contrary to law.
The charge sheet indicated that the accused on Monday 29th May 2023 at Lumley in Freetown maliciously damaged one Prado vehicle bumper valued at three thousand Leones, side glass of the vehicle valued at four thousand Leones, brake light valued at one thousand Leones and other items all to the total value of nine thousand Leones (9,000) property of Mayor Aki Sawyer.
The charge sheet furthered that the accused on the same day and place steal one techno mobile phone valued two hundred and fifty Leones property of Sahr Alex Fomba.
The accused had earlier pleaded not guilty of the offense.
The prosecutor inspector Sellu sought for an adjournment that the witnesses are absent in court.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown.
The matter adjourned to the 18th July 2023 for further hearing
