In his persistent effort towards the re-election of President Julius Maada Bio, the Chief Executive Officer of the Smart Movement for SLPP, Aerean Steven Smart Gegra, has over the weekend in Koindu City, persuaded residents of Kono district to vote for President Bio and the SLPP through his massive mobilization schemes.
There was a massive crowd in the Kono district organised by the SMART movement to welcome President Bio and First Lady Fatima Maada Bio.
In an exclusive interview, Aerean Steven Smart Gegra said President Bio had provided an uninterrupted electricity supply for the people of Kono, the ongoing construction of the University of Science among other galaxy of developmental activities in Kono, which was the more reason he mobilized such crowd in appreciation for the development in Kono.
He admonished locals of Kono to encourage girl child education in that part of the of country. He added that women are in the majority and very instrumental in terms of development. He said President Bio made education his flagship programme in order to solve Human Capital Development for the betterment of the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Smart Movement also intimated that President Bio never believed in violence. He reminded those in the gathering that President Bio was the one who brought Sierra Leone to a multi-party democracy. He added that when President Bio took over governance in 2018, he made frantic efforts to bring political uniformity through the hosting of the Bintumani Three and the establishment of the Peace and National Cohesion Commission. He added that the All People’s Congress Party promised to make the state ungovernable which they did.
With vim and vigour for the re-election of President Bio, Smart Gegra disclosed that he had visited many villages in Kono in order to champion the re-election of President Bio. He continued that President Bio had done tremendous work in his first five years and therefore, called on the People of Kono to support President Bio’s re-election so that Kono would benefit from more development.
“President Bio has started a very good work so I am calling on you all to support the President to secure his second term victory without run-off. In the days of the APC, Paramount Chiefs were humiliated and youth brutalized here in Kono. In fact, Kono was shunned by the APC in terms of Development”, he said.
He also called on the people of Kono to vote for a government that has a people at heart and is developmentally oriented. He said the development progress of President Bio is uncountable which includes the recent construction of the New Freetown International Airport in Port Loko District.
