Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No. 1 has remanded Yusuf Jalloh at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road in Freetown for allegedly breaking into Isha Kamara’s home and stealing cash of six thousand, five hundred leones and other valuables worth thousands of leones.
The accused appeared before the court on a count of Housebreaking and larceny country the law.
It was alleged that the accused, on the said date Up Moeba in Freetown, broke into the complainant’s house and stole certain property worth thousands of leones.
Led in evidence Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Osman M. Bangura prosecuting the matter Prosecution witness (PW), Isha Kamara residing at Upper Moeba in Freetown, who is also a trader said recognized the accused in respect of the matter and could Tuesday 16 May 2023.
She said on that day she went to do laundry at the nearby streams, adding that upon her return home, she discovered that her room door was damaged and that when she preceded into her room, she discovered that her room was ransacked and also discovered that cash of six thousand, five hundred leones (NLe6’500), a generator, a mortal pestle, four (4) pots and a microphone have been carted away.
She said one unknown person gave her information about the accused, informing her that she saw the accused with a generator.
At this point, ASP Osman M. Bangura sought an adjournment for him to have a proper conference with his witness the application which was granted.
Magistrate Kekura denied the accused bail and remanded him at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to 8th June 2023 for further examination in chief
