Following the rally of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in the Western Rural District, the incumbent Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council and the Councilor for Ward 394 have come under serious bashing that they did not perform as expected by mthe ajority of the electorates.
Speaking to this medium, an aspiring Councilor covering Devil Hole to Deep-eye Water in the rural area, Mohamed Lama Bah has described Kashow Holland Cole and Mohamed Koroma as failed politicians, noting that their performance was not good for the people who voted them into such public offices. He said their poor performances and the continuous calls of the people for change motivated him to stand up and change the game so the people will see tangible development in the district. ” My going into Council means the people will succeed; I will team up with the Chairman to make sure devolved functions are implemented for the good of the people in the district”, he committed to do if he wins the June 24th election.
He challenged the main opposition APC party that by all indications his party will win a good number of seats in their stronghold, because, according to him, there is nothing to show for the past five years in terms of development in the rapidly growing district. He said with the support of the SLPP party, he will focus on drug control and job creation for the youths whom he said deserve serious attention.
He blamed the previous Council on the grounds that they did not utilize the revenues generated within the district to provide for the needs of the people they were supposed to serve.
It could be recalled that Lama lost the 2018 election ever since he has been involved in partisan activities to help popularise government policies and the work of President Julius Maada Bio amongst residents in rural communities. At the moment, his name is the 21st candidate in the list submitted by the SLPP to the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL).
Kashow Cole and Mohamed Koroma have insisted that they will win the elections pointing out that they will do more if they win.
