Justice Manuela Harding of the Sexual Offences Court on March 2021 acquitted and discharged a 24 year old Edward Thomas who was alleged to have sexually tampered with a 15 year old girl.
When reading the judgment, Justice Harding said, the witness testimonies have no corroboration, and three Prosecutors from the Law Officers Department which includes Prosecution lead by O.V. Robin Mason Jr., I.A. Kamara and A.T. Rogers Esq led those witnesses.
O.V Robin Mason Jr. Esq. led the team of Prosecutors and they did not prove their case against the accused, according to the judge.
She went on to say the accused is charged with a count of sexual penetration of a child, and he relied on his statement he made at the Police Station.
Justice Manuela Harding acquitted and discharged the accused for wants of Prosecution.
The accused was represented by Randy S. Bangura Esq. from the Legal Aid Board.
It could be recall that the accused Edward Thomas on the 11 March 2019, at No.11 Will Street off Kissy road Freetown allegedly sexually penetrated a child below 18 years.
