Leone Stars Technical Team Invites 36 Players Ahead Of Afcon Qualifiers

The Technical Team of the Sierra Leone national senior male team (Leone Stars) have invited 36 home-based players to commence training in preparation for the country’s next encounter against Nigeria in the ongoing Total Energies AFCON Qualifiers in June this year.

Sierra Leone Senior National sides are looking for a must-win match to secure a place in the next Africa Cup Nations to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.

The Clash against Nigeria will determine Leone Stars’ campaign in the next tournament.

 The home base players were called from the (18) Premier League clubs in the Country. Now on the invited players (8) Players were called up from the Current Champions Bo Rangers Football Club and their team is still unbeaten in Premier League after 23 matches.

Mighty Blackpool has the second highest call of players with (6) including inform player Ron Gandi Williams and the players of Mighty Blackpool have been impressive this season.

East End Lions Football Club has (4) players invited to join the rest of the home base players to start preparing ahead of the most anticipated clash against the Super Eagles.

FC Kallon had four players called up with an informed midfielder Saidu Fofonah in the midfielder pack to give a boost to the squad.

Three players were called up from FC Johansen and (2) Players were called up from Freetonians SLIFA, two players were called up from the Waterfront Boys Port Authority while Clubs like Diamond Stars, and Lamboi Real Republicans have one player each called to join the rest of the squad.

Amidu Karim the Assistant Coach of Leone Stars said the two matches against Nigeria and Guinea Bissau are must-win matches if the National team to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations.

Training has commenced at the Murray Town field artificial turf.
