Thirty years old Fadiru Kallon a Masoner, thirty-five years old Foray Janneh a businessman and twenty-three years old Hassan Sesay a business made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.6 in Freetown on four count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law, Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act and two count charges ranging from Receiving stolen goods contrary to section 33 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence on the 9th of April 2023 at No.3 Kamanda Drive off Peninsular Road Adonkia the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Larceny.
On count two at the same place and date, the first accused person Stole one hundred Cartoons Wall tiles, one hundred cartoon floor tiles, five single doors, three half-inch security doors, fifteen pieces of Staircase tiles, one pink toilet seat, one black toilet seat, twenty waist compartment toilet seats, one tone of half-inch iron rods, forty-four length quarter iron rods, one cartoon four-inch nail and other items all to the total value of one hundred and twenty-two thousand five hundred new Leones (122,500) Property of Samuel Carol Pratt.
On count three and four at the same place and date the second and third accused persons did receive three toilet seats, ten cartoon floor tiles, and one cartoon four-inch nails all to the total value of seventeen thousand eight hundred and sixty Leones (17,800,60) property of Samuel Arthur Carol Pratt knowing same to have been stolen.
The charges were read and explained to the accused persons and they pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the second and third accused persons Amos C. Baio Esq and AR Abass Kamara Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of the second and third accused persons that they’re Sierra Leonean residents within this jurisdiction that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on their behalf they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses he made his application pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted the second and third accused person bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties each in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card one surety each to be employed in a government institution in Sierra Leone bail to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar the first accused person to be remanded.
The matter was adjourned to the 15th of May 2023 for further hearing, while Inspector Mohamed Kamara prosecuted the matter.
