Don Bosco Fambul Eco-Project Commemorates World Earth Day

In the commitment of keeping the environment clean and fighting climate change, Don Bosco Fambul Eco-Project commemorated World Earth Day in the cities of Port Loko and Makeni on the past fortnight of 2023.

Murrah Massaquoi, Project Coordinator of the Don Bosco Fambul Eco-Project said they deemed it nice to commemorate World Earth Day as a way of tapping into the fight against climate change and keeping the environment clean and healthy. He said the event was threaded by creating an awareness as well sensitizing the locals within Port Loko and Makeni townships in order to understand relevant of keeping hygienic environment and frowning against deforestation otherwise illegal cutting down of trees. “We commemorated the day in the form of march-pass where teachers and school pupils who have been benefited from the training, ” Massaquoi said.

He said they also invited stakeholders from the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education, Environmental Protection Agency and the Councils to complement the occasion and share their unflinching ideas. Massaquoi furthered that the program came in the time Sierra Leoneans were in full preparedness of upholding to clean and healthy environment and discouraging others against deforestation. He noted that this would be an going event year in and year out.

Massaquoi mentioned that the Don Bosco Fambul Eco-Project is up and running across the nation with their code mandate of battling against climate change and maintaining clean environment.
