Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No.1 has on Tuesday 2nd May, 2023 sentenced 22 years old Claudius Roberts to six months imprisonment after pleading guilty of damaging Sierra Leone People’s Party’s (SLPP) billboards.
The accused appeared before the court for one count offence of malicious damage contrary to Section 51 of the malicious damage Act of 1861.
According to the particulars of offence, on Sunday 2nd April, 2023 along Main Motor Road, Brookfields in Freetown, the accused maliciously damage four (4) pieces of Billboards each value at NLe1,500/00 (one thousand five hundred new notes), all total valued at NLe6,000/00 ( six thousand new notes) property of SLPP.
The accused who was unrepresented in his plea mitigation beg the magistrate to tamper justice with Mercy.
Magistrate Ngegba having heard his plea mitigation sentence him to six months imprisonment.
According to the police report on Tuesday 4th April, 2023 at 11:50 hours at Sanders Drive, Fayia Corner, Brookfields, Freetown, Dauda Kamara arrested the said accused of and reported him for committing the aforesaid crime.
