A cross section members of Group 47 Nurses of the National school of Nursing Sierra Leone chapter, have on Friday 28th April 2023 donated items for new Borns worth ten thousand new Leones to more than thirty patients at the Domiciliary one and labour ward of the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) in Freetown.
Donating the items the coordinator Group 47 Nurses of the National school of Nursing Sierra Leone chapter Gifty Massaquoi maintained that members of Group 47 Nurses were students of the National school of Nursing since 1996 to 1999 that are all over the globe.
She noted that those in Sierra Leone as a way of expressing gratitude to the school they have studied thought it prudent to contribute among themselves to donate the items in order to help the beneficiaries.
The donation Gifty Massaquoi noted is to tell the patients that besides treating them the Nurses also love and care for them. She told mothers of the beneficiary new Borns not to only focus on the items donated but the thought behind it and therefore implored them to always take good care of their babies as they are the future leaders of the country when well brought up. The coordinator Group 47 Nurses of the National school of Nursing Sierra Leone chapter thanked the management of the aforementioned hospital for accepting them and for their relentless efforts in the day to day running of the hospital and urged them to do more noting the reward for good work is more work . Making a statement on behalf of the management of the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) Matron Saiminatu k.Tejan-sie foremost welcomed members of Group 47 Nurses of the National school of Nursing Sierra Leone chapter to the PCMH. She commended them for the donation and prayed for God to see them through in their individual and collective endeavors in order them to do more donations for the babies at the PCMH.
Meanwhile, Aminata Conteh ,Salamatu Tarawally and Aminata Kanu mothers of the beneficiary babies thanked their benefactors for the donation. They said the items donated are very important and timely and promised to judiciously use them. Plans by the Group to give a face lift to the National school of Nursing formed high point of donation ceremony.
