Forty five men delegation headed by Pastor Philip Buck, an Executive Committee member of the Sierra Leone Football Association, departed Sierra Leone on Wednesday evening and have landed safely in Lesotho on Thursday 25th March, 2021 ahead of Leone Stars fifth AFCON qualifying match against the crocodiles of Lesotho.
The Team delegation boarded Kenya Airways KQ and was due in Accra Ghana at 8: 45pm where three other players, Alhassan-Alusine Koroma and Kweku Davies from Europe joined the delegation that will head to Kenya and arrive at 6:40 am on Thursday.
The delegation transits in Kenya and landed at the QR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 11:40am on the same day.
In Johannesburg, the delegation boarded a chartered flight and finally arrived at the Moshoeshoe International Airport, Maseru, Lesotho where a representative from the host football Federation escorted Sierra Leone delegation to the designated hotel.
Today the team will hold their first training session ahead of the crunch tie against Crocodile of Lesotho and the match is set to play on Saturday at 1: pm. The two countries are poised to secure a win.
However, Leone Stars of Sierra Leone is currently in 3rd position with three points after four marches played while the Crocodile of Lesotho are having two points after four matches played.
Crocodiles of Lesotho have a poor home record after four matches. They are yet to secure a win at home while Leone Stars of Sierra Leone are yet to secure an away win since 2002 when they last defeated Guinea Bissau by three goals to one (3-1).
On Tuesday 30th March 2021 Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will play their last match in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
