On the 21st March, a cross section of Office of Presidential Infrastructure Initiative Engineers under the astute Leadership of Ing. Dr. John Tambi embarked on a District Planning of FALABA DISTRICT MONGO BENDUGU CHIEFDOM.
FALABA DISTRICT Located in the Northern Province is a new district that was established by the previous government. MONGO BENDUGU CHIEFDOM is the District Headquarter.
The New Direction government of H.E Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio thought it fit that as a new district it should have the adequate and essential infrastructures in place for cohesive nation building. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal launched in 2016 has been a template for nations all over the world and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) can only be achieved with proper district planning.
TEAM OPII went to Falaba District for a Drone Survey of the District headquarter Mongo Bendugu. The team was welcomed by the Regent Chief Sheku Jawara and other stakeholders in the chiefdom. A survey was done for 1,600 acres of land including the township and areas that have been allocated for future development. Proposed Infrastructures such as a Mini-Stadium, Hospital, Schools and Government Offices were all captured in the Drone Survey.
This survey will make it easy for Government and Non- Governmental Organizations to select convenient locations where they can start any project in this District.
