In a press Statement issued by University Administration indicates that the attention of the Administration of Njala University had been drawn to rumours on social media that Njala University Building at 19 Henry Street in Freetown is in a precarious condition.

He Press statement depicts that the University Administration were told that everyone including Lecturers, had to leave the building immediately for safety when postgraduate students taking classes there heard a loud sound.

The release notes that based on these rumours, the University Administration conducted an immediate investigation from its staff members residing in Freetown to verify if the report was true. “The sound they reported hearing came from a nearby construction site, according to the report presented to the University”, the release states.

It continues that the Njala University Administration would therefore like the general public to know that the said building is structurally stable and that there are no structural flaws, such as cracks in beams, columns, or walls, apparent within or outside of this newly completely rehabilitated structure.

However, to strengthen management and the interested public confidence, the press statement assures that an Engineering Firm would be contracted to reassess the building’s structural stability and then present a report to the administration for further action.
