Residents in Kono are frustrated with the poor power generation and distribution situation in the city of Kono. One of the analysts of the Good Governance program Kono District News Review on Radio New Song FM has called on the Sierra Leone First Lady and other political leaders in the nation’s capital Freetown to come and stay with the people of Kono in order to have a constant electricity facility. He was actually sounding sarcastic about constant electricity when in actual it is the opposite prevailing situation.
He said it is only when state functionaries from the capital Freetown pay visit that power is supplied for resident to benefit.
Mr Kargbo described the whole scenario as unfortunate and a deliberate act of sabotage on the part of the EDSA workers in Kono. He further described both the past and present governments as being insensitive to their plight in assessing the much needed service.
