As a way of addressing the Perennial Problem of unemployment in Sierra Leone, the Ebenezer Almighty Prospers group of companies has organized a day capacity development and job opportunity training for more than one thousand youths in Kono District. The training which took place at the Diamond Lodge Hotel in Nimikoro Chiefdom Kono District was geared towards the impartation of entrepreneurship, Agric-business, leadership, Business ownership, Mining Business Management and Agricultural Engineering. Addressing participants of the capacity development and job opportunity training, the president of the Angel Investors Network USA and Vice Chairman EAP group of companies, Professor Ricky White maintained that it takes Sierra Leoneans to develop Sierra Leone which is the vision of the Ebenezer Almighty prospers group of companies to enable Sierra Leoneans to manage and distribute their God given wealth or resources.
Matilda Joy Gbondo is the media head of EAP group of companies, she noted that the training was geared towards awakening the mindsets of the youths in Kono district and the country as a whole.
He noted that the youths cannot contribute to the growth of the country when their mindsets are not developed.
She lamented over the idea of how foreigners do come and take away the minerals of the country without benefiting the citizens and the country itself. She intimated that EAP group of companies is a complete opposite of what has been happening as it is owned and managed by Sierra Leoneans. Underscoring the rationale of operating in Kono District, the media head of EAP group of companies maintained that Kono district is a virgin land that needs such lucrative opportunities as it is one of the devastating districts in Sierra Leone owing to the eleventh (11) years senseless civil war. She said the EAP group of companies is in the district and the country as a whole to improve the lives of Sierra Leoneans especially the youths.
Maltida Joy Gbondo intimated the participants that EAP group of companies creed is Biblical and built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. She thanked the people of Kono District for their unflinching support and willingness to accept the EAP group of companies in Kono District.
In his keynote address the EAP Group of companies chairman and president Alex O. Phillips Foremost praised and called for the worshiped in God. He narrated the story of an athlete who was prepared well for the race of life but he got a muscle pull attack and could not finish the race by himself instead a man came out of the crowd to help him who he said was his father. Analyzing the moral lesson behind the aforementioned story Professor Phillips pointed out that in life one faces challenges but like the man in the story, the EAP group of companies is in the country to render a helping hand through the pain and hardships which the youths face in the race of life. He encouraged the youths present to use the training knowledge gained by staying focus as it is a stepping stone for employment with the EAP group of companies which is set to start operations in Kono District very soon and those that attended the training will be contacted by the management of EAP group of companies.
The training ended with the appointment of the following to provide leadership for EAP group of companies in Kono district: Joseph Koroma Regional Director, Ahmed Kamano Deputy Regional Director and Curtis Tamba Jones Director of Mines. Professor Alex O. Phillips told all present that the aforementioned leaders are charged with the responsibility of carrying out the affairs of EAP group of companies in Kono District Reverend Christian Fayia and Bishop S. E. Konoyima faithfully promised to support the actualization of the said project in Kono District.
Meanwhile similar training is expected to be held in Bo.
