Leone Stars’ Head Coach John Keister has on 25th February 2022 invited a pool of 40 Homebased players to commence training on Monday, February 27 at the Murray Town playing field at 4:30 pm.
This training will give Keister and his technical team a clear insight into the set of players excelling in the local premier league, to guarantee a perfect blend with the selected foreign-based going into Sierra Leone’s doubleheader against the Falcons of São Tomé and Príncipe in the ongoing AFCON 2023 Qualification.
In another development, CAF Named the Togolese Quartet to officiate Sierra Leone vs São Tomé & Principe AFCON Fixture
Togolese referee Yelebodom Gado Bodjona has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football to be at the helm of the MN62 of the 2023 African cup of Nations qualifiers between Sierra Leone vs São Tomé and Principe scheduled for the 22nd March 2023 at the Grand Stade de Agadir in Morocco.
The 37-year-old Centre man will be assisted by three of his compatriots, Abdou Kpelafia AR1, Wassiou T Ourotou AR2 and Vincetia Enyoman Amedome as Forth official. Liberia Football Association VP1 Sekou Wieh Konneh will serve as Match Commissioner whiles former Gambian FIFA referee, Mendy John Frank will serve as Referee Assessor.
The 45, 480-capacity Grand Stade de Agadir which lies 508 kilometres from the Moroccan commercial capital of Casablanca will host the MD 3&4 fixtures of Sierra Leone vs São Tomé on the 22nd and 26th March instant.
Meanwhile, CAF has also appointed a quartet batch of Ivorian referees to be in charge of the reversed fixture with a Burkinabe as match commissioner.
Sierra Leone Senior National Leone Stars need to get four or Six points if they are to get an edge in the 2024 AFCON to be host in Ivory Coast.
