The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has commenced training of twenty-four (24) senior and technical staff on self-paced e-Learning Projects in Controlled Environment (PRINCE2) Project Management.
This is part of the ongoing institutional recalibration and restructuring to rapidly delivery on all projects. This training follows and supports the Institutional Review’s recommendation which was undertaken – specifically to re-align the vision, mission, core values and organizational structure of the Commission within the context of the NaCSA Act of 2019. The Act entails defining new priority areas that support NaCSA’s broad mandates. Effectively repositioning the Commission to achieve this mandate requires staff capacity building on requisite skills and expertise.
Speaking to regional and technical staff, the Commissioner of NaCSA – Dr. Sao-Kpato Hannah Isatta Macarthy re-emphasized the importance of the training especially for Regional Coordinators who are very critical to the overall project implementation and achieving the rapid strategy. She noted that irrespective of the fact that the Commission has a broad knowledge base and qualified staff, the rapid delivery strategy requires innovative and prompt action.
The Commissioner underscored the importance of being a Prince 2 fellow as it carries greater influence and attraction to securing international job opportunities beyond NaCSA because of the weight the fellowship inspires globally.
“… NaCSA is committed to building the capacity of its employees when it can and already boasts of a learning culture and environment as witnessed by the number of its employees who are enrolled on Continuous Self Development (CSD) courses on their own initiatives and self-sponsorship’’, She concluded.
After signing the Leaning Evaluation Contract, the Consultant on compliance – Munya Radzihove thanked the Regional Coordinators and acknowledged that the effort is to build staff capacity. He further encouraged RCs to be committed and work effectively towards completing the learning within the shortest duration of 3 months or 12 months maximum.
On behalf of other Regional Coordinators (RC), Rev Farama Joseph Bangura extended a sincere thanks and appreciation for the diverse capacity building opportunities provided by the Commissioner.
